July 15, 2015, (Houma, Louisiana) – K&B Industries has expanded its machining capabilities with the purchase of a DMC U/FD 125 duoBLOCK® Series 5-Axis machining center. With the addition of this advanced, state-of-the-art equipment, K&B will be able to perform even the most complex and detailed machining processes found in aerospace, automotive, energy equipment, and general manufacturing.
The DMC U/FD 125 duoBLOCK Series – a third generation duoBLOCK model – provides the capabilities of 4 machines from a single set up. This means the duoBLOCK can operate as a vertical turret lathe, a horizontal lathe, a horizontal mill, or a vertical mill.
Offering high repeatability and 20% greater flexibility than previous models, the DMC 125 duoBLOCK can machine and deliver both simple and high-tech parts economically, efficiently, and with exceptional precision.
This machine can handle parts with dimensions up to 49.2” in diameter and 63” tall, weighing up to 5.500 lbs.
Stated Kenny Wood Jr., President of K&B Industries, “By adding this cutting-edge machining center to our new, 200,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, we’re demonstrating our commitment to our customers’ evolving needs and fast-paced schedules. We always aim to exceed expectations, and this is just another way we’re accomplishing that goal.”
